Hi, I am Ray/Rayhan.
I'm a data scientist at NalaGenetics, focused primarily on bioinformatics. My day to day revolves around building disease risk prediction models, supporting statistical analysis for upcoming publications, and contributing to bioinformatics pipeline development.
Aside from bioinformatics, I love diving deep into machine learning, especially ML for science, NLP, and language models. Lately exploring knowledge graphs, distillation, and inference optimisation. I also love working with structural biology data, especially protein structures (perhaps thanks to my undergrad thesis).
Away from the terminals, I love wet lab work, especially related to cell culture and molecular stuff. I have always found tactile work enjoyable. In my free time, I do photography, filmmaking, and writing.
